Joeys: 6 weeks to 12 months & walking. In this room, guides will be assigned to each child but will also be responsible for caring for every child as needed. The purpose of having an assigned guide be the primary part of an infant’s day is to observe his/her developmental milestones, complete assessments for the parents, and build that caring, nurturing relationship that babies need.
There will be no set schedule for this room because studies have shown that infants feel more secure and develop better when in an environment with routines but balanced with individual needs. We want the guides to be on the floor interacting with, playing and loving on these babies!
A typical day in the Joeys room would include:
- Free Time with the Infants
- Reading Books
- Baby Craft Time
- Music and Rhythm Time
- Outdoor Time
- Feeding and Naps will occur on an as needed basis
- Diapering will occur every 2 hours unless needed in between
- Logs will go home daily so parents know what their child participated in during the day, how your baby ate, slept, and diapered.
